Sympathy Gifts Delivered With Heart

There are moments in life when the right words, and the right gift given at the right time can make all the difference.  This we found out a couple of days ago with a customer calling us to see if we could specially courier to her 15 of our Free Spirit books. She is based interstate and was going to be that night in Brisbane for a funeral the following day of a dear work colleague. We learned that sympathy gifts delivered with heart can turn a difficult times into special moments.

Going That Extra Smile

Heidi and I were honoured to be able to help her with her request. A few phone calls and text messages later we had organised the courier and madly put the books together by giving each book that special touch with a bow. Just as we were packing the books in a box the courier arrived – perfect timing! The customer texted us that night to send us her gratitude that we had made the whole process as seamless as possible.

A Little Kindness Goes A Long Way

We were so happy to receive her feedback and thought we would share it with you. A little kindness goes a long way. We were so grateful that we could help this lovely lady as best we could in helping her create sympathy gifts that would be cherished. She texted the following:

At the loss of someone it is always important to be extra sensitive to those going through this difficult time. Delivering the right level of service and understanding becomes critically important. And it isn’t that difficult – it is simply about being empathetic and sensitive to their needs.

The Right Words Make All The Difference

We were equally impressed with the customer’s creativity. When she received the books that evening at her hotel in Brisbane she wrote a heartfelt message at the front of the gift books where we have designed a page especially for this. She then highlighted a page from the
Free Spirit book in memory of her friend. This was well received. This is the text that she had sent through:

Dear Heidi,
Thank you again for your beautiful books. They were treasured by all who received them. I tabbed the ‘free spirit’ page in everyone’s book in memory of our friend – they loved this. The books will be there for them through time providing inspiration and fond memories.

T. had turned a sombre moment into one of great joy and remembrance. Sympathy gifts need not be ways to feel sad but can uplift us. They can bring us great joy as we remember the things we cherished most about the deceased.

Little Surprises

T. goes on to write:

We also popped in a copy of our Hope gift book as a special thank you to for the large order and also we wanted to make T. feel special and that her thoughtfulness and kindness for her colleagues didn’t go unnoticed. It is funny, what goes around comes around we. We were thrilled to bits when T. had spread kindness by buying the very same book a week earlier. She was giving this book to her boss in a most creative way:

FYI – On 14 Nov (my b’day) I came across your ‘Free Spirit’ book in Berry and had to buy it for my boss. I put it on her car windscreen as a surprise for when she drove home that night – she loved it 😊

Every Book Is Another Story
